Invisalign by Reitz Malloy Dental

Reitz Malloy Dental is a certified Invisalign® dentist serving Reading PA.

Located in Wyomissing PA, Reitz Dental provides a state-of-the-art alternative to traditional braces. Invisalign clear aligners are custom molded to your teeth, creating virtually invisible braces that are easily removable.

How does Invisalign work?

Dr. Reitz creates a mold of your teeth. He will then create a set of clear aligners that fit snugly over your teeth, top and bottom. Your Invisalign set gradually moves your teeth by providing the right amount of force to shift them horizontally, vertically and even straighten your teeth.

About once a week you install a new set of aligners each set gradually moves your teeth into the ideal position.

About every six weeks, Dr. Reitz will check your progress and create additional sets of aligners as needed.

Do I wear them constantly?

No. Ideally you’ll wear them 20-22 hours a day for maximum progress. They should be removed while eating and cleaning.

A big advantage to traditional wire braces is that food particles won’t get trapped in the device. You will brush your teeth normally, clean the aligners, and reinstall them after meals. Invisalign aligners require a fraction of the time associated with cleaning compared to wire braces.

How long do I wear them?

Each patient is different, but generally speaking, Invisalign aligners can work up to 50% faster than traditional metal braces.

Our Invisalign aligners only for adults?

Invisalign can be used by adults and many teens. They aren’t appropriate for young children. Dr. Reitz will help teens determine the most appropriate course of treatment.

Young adults particularly like these aligners because they are practically invisible and don’t impede speech. Most people will never notice you are wearing them.

Can I wear them while I play sports?

Yes, generally. If your sport requires you to wear protective mouth guards simply remove the Invisalign aligners. For sports with less contact, you can wear the aligners while you play. Typically they are more comfortable during physical activities than metal braces and much less prone to damage.

How much do they cost? Are they covered by insurance?

Total cost varies depending on the complexity of your case, however orthodontic insurance will frequently cover up to $3500 of Invisalign treatments.

You can also use your FSA (flexible spending account) toward Invisalign treatment. This will allow you to set aside $2550 of your pretax income.

The staff at Reitz Dental can assist you with payment plans for Invisalign treatments that are covered completely by your insurance or FSA.
